Conveniently located in scenic Fairfax County, the Reston, Virginia Campus is just off of Sunset Hills Road in the Lake Fairfax Business Park. The Chubb Institute's Reston Campus provides comprehensive education in the state of Virginia, a perfect setting for a career-minded student. All Chubb employees are customer service representatives with the responsibility of assuring that each student's tenure is exceptional. The Chubb experience is one component in the student's career development plan. The Career Services Department works with students throughout their initial job search, maintaining contact with graduates throughout the process.
The Reston facility also enjoys an instructor staff that has on average over 14 years experience in Information Technology and training. The curricula includes Medical Administration, Programming, Multimedia Design, Network Security Systems, and Oracle DBA. IEEE web site upgrade and maintenance - The honor students had the opportunity to upgrade the web site for the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). One of the Web Development instructors acted as project leader with the students handling all aspects of the project from design and coding to testing and implementation. The students involved in this project also received special recognition from the IEEE (http://ieee.org).
Computer C.O.R.E. (Community Outreach and Employment - http://www.computercore.org) - The networking honor students have been working with C.O.R.E. and the United Community Ministries (UCM) refurbishing used computers, renovating a PC lab and setting up and configuring classrooms and client PCs. These students also received special recognition from C.O.R.E. and UCM.
Versar - Versar is a company that is working with the Hampton Roads Naval Museum providing CDs to all museum visitors that contain images from the museum. Our honor students will work with Versar to create a new CD for this year using HTML to make the CD more universally acceptable.
In addition to real life projects Chubb's honors students will also provide tutoring to students in need of some extra assistance. The tutors are students who have excelled in their classes and are willing to provide assistance to their peers. This program is coordinated by one of the Chubb instructors who oversees the tutoring and provides additional guidance when necessary.
The Chubb Institute of Reston, Virginia welcomes visitors daily. The Admissions Office is open Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
